I thought that the inverse scrolling was a bug, but in Lion Dev Preview 2 it is still there

It's done on purpose because we've been used to backwards scrolling all these years. Why should a mouse's scroll wheel control the scroll bar, and not the page you want to scroll? When you think about it, it's kind of silly to add that extra layer of abstraction when you don't need it.

Now it's been corrected - it takes almost no time to get used to it. Embrace it, and you'll be ok.

Is Verizon and the competition any better? I don't think so, and that's why AT&T can get away with not investing in additional towers.

AT&T is collecting our money, but not spending the money needed to provide the service we are paying for. I suppose it's great on paper for them and their bottom line, but at some point will this catch up with them?? We are at least a generation behind the rest of the world but AT&T can get away with it because the rest of the competition is doing the same.

I wonder what is pushing the other countries into 4G, and at this rate we may soon be 2 generations behind. A similar situation exists with internet broadband where the rest of the world gets faster internet than us. :(

In Japan and Korea iRiver currently has one or two mp3/pmp wi-max players which is doing decent for what it is. But the wi-Max is only for multiplayer games it offers, plus all those odd things the have available there wi-max can use.

How can you be sure of that? And you're calling me out on applying the word "fact"? Quite ironic. Please conduct a poll of those who agree with you, and let me know how many are qualified to judge.

Amazon charges its cloud service too. Why should Apple give anything away for free?

Amazon does give a decent amount of free storage. 5 Gigs for music is pretty impressive. I have a 20 Gig collection, but I'd only need about 3 to store the stuff I'd really want on a whim anyway.

Would apple give it to you free for a few purchases like amazon? Hmm.

Personally, I don't see much use for such services except as a backup solution. Sure it would be convenient to want to hear some odd ball track and being able to pull it from the cloud, but my life wouldn't end, and I wouldn't pay money for the novelty of it.

Purchase spare battery? Nice Apple nice. It may be a legit option, god knows its somewhat a PITA to find on apple's site, but still. I don't want to hear anyone complaining about MS's in OS ads.

Ah. You mean similar as to how Apple purchased NeXT and based OS X on their NeXTSTEP OS?

Give it up. This has been discussed to death already.

    See above.

You really think OS X is just a rip off NeXTSTEP?

As you said its based and a lot of things were shared but it isn't like they said; here's OSX, NeXTSTEP build by Apple.

OSX shares a lot from the opensource community; so does windows;, Android, Symbian, etc etc.

    What's the big deal?

Using Apple.com prices for comparison, current Mighty Mouse is $49 and Bluetooth Mouse is $59.

I would like to see the Bluetooth Mighty Mouse at $59 or even better a Bluetooth Keyboard and Mighty Mouse Combo for $99.

Ditto - if the mouse is 70 dollars, there's no way I'll pay for it (I'm still surprised I forked over the 50 dollars for the last Mighty Mouse...)

My guess? They lower the price of the wired Mighty Mouse a bit, discontinue the other bluetooth mouse, and replace it with a bluetooth Mighty Mouse for 50-60 dollars. My hope? They offer a bundle, with both the wireless keyboard + mouse for 99 dollars or less.

some of you guys make little sense.

-you love apple computers thus the reason why you're here. you defend its price point v. PCs, flaunt the virtues of its beautiful, well thought out OS

yet you guys have so little faith to pretty much say that apple is going to screw the pooch by releasing the next mba with inferior graphics performance? what are you, insecure?

your mba right now is the top dog, but as they say the king is dead, long live the king. i'm looking forward to the update and i'm a 13 ultimate owner. i of all people should wanna put down the next version since i paid $2K out the door for this thing brand spanking new. hahahah we don't even know if it's june or nov or what yet you guys are totally dogging on vaporware. ahahaa

but i won't. never will. innovate, mega corporation, innovate!

I think the phone could be a tiny bit thinner but not this thin. The teardrop design is best left with just the Macbook air (iPhone Air?). I'd stay close the the current design and maybe mix it up with the first one a bit. Must say I'm loving the screen and home button though

Okay, this guy must live in a "garden" apartment or something. I live in NYC and the only place I drop calls 100% of the time is near the Verizon building by the Brooklyn Bridge. Irony of ironies.

But my dropped call percentage is less that 5%.

I live in Hell's Kitchen, and I rarely drop calls here, though data speeds during rush hour are pathetically slow.

I walk near Union Square every day on my way home from work, and every single time I'm at 5th Ave & 13th st. I drop a call... every single time... I can never hold a call near union square.

AT&T service is really not good in NYC. There's no point in my getting a 3Gs for faster 3G... it's all slow here, regardless of the model iPhone.

I drop about 15-20% of my calls. Near Union Square I drop 75-80% easily.

I think it's best if Vista is avoided altogether. The best way to avoid problems with Microsoft is not to give them any money and not to load any of their software on your computer.

At work here we just discovered that upgrading to Internet Exploder 7 causes two of our most important Internet based products to not work properly. They ever heard about backwards compatibility or testing at Microsoft? Just reinforces my reasoning for not sending Microsoft almost $300 to subject myself to their newest software fiasco. I think I'll do something more rewarding and pleasurable like jab a Bic pen into the palm of my hand.

while it would be nice to live in a world where everything Microsoft made could easily be avoided, its certainly not the best solution at all for some people and their jobs/careers/etc. If you need compatibility with Windows, then you need it to get things done. XP will be fine for the vast majority of people right now, but eventually people are going to want to upgrade to Vista for a variety of reasons, and knowing that you'll have to re-boot to run vista for the lower-level versions is an issue. Microsoft isn't the best company, but we live in a world where their products are used by so many people that it can't be avoided.

It's really disconcerting that so many of the UI changes that Apple has made over the past few OS X iterations have seemed rather arbitrary. Cosmetic improvements are fine (though I think that this look for iCal would be a major step backward), but they should be concentrating on functionality, speed, reliability, and security. If I'm going to give up Rosetta for OS 10.7, I'd like to get a lot more than eye candy.

Do some research on what tall buildings do to cell towers/signal and the ability for your phone to handle constant hand-offs between thousands of towers. Trust me, sky scrapers make it impossible for Verizons, T-mobile, or any other carriers service to be much better than the rest. The other carriers are just better about hiding their shortcomings from the public.

    HORSE *****!
I HAD NOT ONE DROPPED CALL WITH VERIZON IN 5 YEARS.
